"Oasis by the Sea" - Stunning Art in Architecture for Sale on Casey Key

The November 19 REAL Magazine networking event on Casey Key at “Oasis by the Sea”, my gorgeous new modern listing designed by renowned architect Guy Peterson with construction completed in 2008 by one of Sarasota’s most respected builders, Michael Walker, was a standing-room only late afternoon event.

Featuring keynote speaker John Tuccillo, former NAR chief economist, who had just returned from the national realtors’ convention in San Diego, advised the realtors to have a “cyberspace strategy” going forward in 2010. Embracing change to stay relevant was the mantra at the convention, and it echoed here at the REAL networking event.

The committee for Realtors for Kids Scholarship Program of United Way of Sarasota County, consisting of Mary Hellhake, Jim Soda, Ed Bertha and Deborah Beacham, have been working diligently to reach our goal of $10,000 for the program by March 2010. To date, the Realtors for Kids Program has raised approximately $7,635 through a golf tournament we held in the early summer of 2009, and for the November networking event, Mary Hellhake did an outstanding job of getting raffle items together which raised another $500+ . We invite any realtor who is committed to helping raise funds to join our committee and help us care for the neediest pre-school children in Sarasota who might not be able to stay in day care due to their parents’ loss of work. These scholarships are provided with no red tape involved; all it takes is a phone call from the day care center to the United Way to express a need for a child, and the money, if available in the scholarship fund, is given to that family. For as little as $30 to $40, one child can say in day care for one day. We are proud to support this continuing effort in our community.

A “holiday fashions” show was provided by Saks Fifth Avenue, and our models included managers from Michael Saunders & Company: Georgina Clamage, Darla Furst, Debbie Judge; our director of internet marketing, Matthew Haber; Pamela Hughes, Hughes Design Associates; Penny Hill, Wells Fargo Mortgage; and Ed Bertha, Publisher, REAL Magazine.
